Last year’s X Factor runner-up Olly Murs has revealed that fancy dress has come to the rescue in attempts to get some peace when out in public, due to the pressure from avid fans.
The 26-year-old singer admitted that fame does have its drawbacks as he cannot go anywhere with his friends without being spotted. This is why crazy fancy dress costumes such as the Fonejacker prank caller character have been worn to protect his identity.
Olly told the Daily Star newspaper how he had recently had to dress up in costume when with mates at the V Festival to stop people coming up to him for photographs.
The ploy seemed to have worked as the balaclava made from a friend’s leggings coupled with some sunglasses made for an excellent disguise allowing Olly to have a great time at the event without being noticed.
If you want to go to a fancy dress party yourself without anyone recognising you, there are a lot of options at your disposal. You may wish to go to the occasion with an eye mask and a hood.
